We've gone back to the RIVERSIDE SOCIAL CLUB. This is now under new management and the people running it were/are very keen to have us back. So for the past few weeks many of the club members have been running some lively, no, make that very lively, sessions at the Riverside Social Club on Wednesday nights. So, in spite of the lack of disabled access (let's face it, no one made use of the disabled access at the Conservative Club during our six months there) and the limited parking outside the club (there's lots of parking available on Cobden Bridge and a quick walk way through between the river and the new flats, sorry apartments), we're back at the RSC (that's the Riverside Social Club not the Royal Shakespeare Company) on WEDNESDAY nights. Hope to see you there!! See the website or 'phone for up to date info. about what's going on.

By the time you read this the St Denys Folk and Blues Club will have moved! Again!! What was it I said last time about calling ourselves the St. Denys Nomads, we seemed so often on the move? Well at least we've simply returned to one of our old haunts so it shouldn't be too hard to find us!
The 'will we/won't we?' 'shall we/shan't we?' uncertainty of the past few weeks has meant that our planned feature nights have, I was going to say 'gone for a Burton' but perhaps I should just say 'not quite gone to plan', so, while the Sue Harris night for May has simply moved to the changed night/venue, the Gene Burton night has been moved to June. I'm still trying to catch up with Tessa Livingstone & friends to rearrange that night for the coming months. See the website or 'phone for up to date info. about the various feature nights.
Although we have moved from the St. Denys Conservative Club we will still be running the publicised GUEST NIGHT. It will be on 22nd June, a TUESDAY as previously advertised, and will feature RON TRUEMAN-BORDER. We will NOT be having a song-writing workshop beforehand as we had hoped, so the evening will start at the more usual time, 8:00 for 8:30. We will be using the upstairs function room for the concert though we will have to go down stairs to the bar to get our drinks. Again, see the website for confirmation of the details.
I can see no reason at all why we should not have our normal club night the following evening!!
